Let me start by saying I know there’s no snow IN Huntington Beach. But that’s beside the point. Huntington Beach is perfectly located at the northern end of Orange County which puts it just a short drive from California’s most famous cities and beaches like Hollywood, Malibu and Venice Beach, but it’s far enough removed to move at a slower more peaceful pace. Sure we’ve got our share of craziness, as you can see from previous articles about the
Surf City Marathon and local landmark the
Castle of Magnolia St but overall Huntington Beach is a nice relaxed place to be.
This morning I went to go visit Bolsa Chica Wetlands in Huntington Beach and stood in silence thinking about the fact that I live in one of the most beautiful places in the country. The
Bolsa Chica Conservancy has been working to restore the wetlands for at least 25 years now and have made major progress just in the past few including a newly rebuilt walking bridge and system of trails. Several species of birds are here to be watched and admired and I even watched a few fish jumping out of the water to catch their breakfast while I was there. Walking on the recently rehabilitated foot bridge crossing the calm clear water with snow capped mountains in the background was awe inspiring. I have not been to many places in the world where great surf and snow are visible from the same spot.
Given the current housing market it seems that Huntington Beach is not as out of reach as it once was for so many people and now may be a great time to look for ocean view homes or condos for sale or even rent in Huntington Beach. I believe there are many reasons to re-locate to the Huntington Beach area and the natural beauty which is so readily accessible is just a start. If you live in Orange County and haven’t visited the newly revitalized Bolsa Chica, the weather’s great, get out there!
